The most glaciated mountain in the Lower 48 is an active volcano adorned with 27 glaciers, including Emmons Glacier, more than four square miles in size and the country’s largest ice flow outside of Alaska. The mountain, which annually attracts thousands of climbers, spawns five major rivers and dozens of waterfalls.
